Jack Johnson. 1878-1946. American boxing champion. Vintage sepia signed photograph, 3.75” x 6.75,” full-length boxing pose of Johnson as a young man, signed “To my pal Johnny Oebbecke. From Jack Johnson.” Signed circa 1915. An extremely desirable autograph in fine condition.

In Reno, Nevada, on July 4, 1910 Johnson defeated the “great white hope” James J. Jeffries, the heavyweight champion who had earlier turned him down, in the fifteenth round in front of 22,000 people. The fight earned Johnson $115,000, and silenced critics who had belittled his earlier win over Tommy Burns. His victory sparked race riots and many states banned the showing of films of Johnson's victories over white fighters

James J. “Gentleman Jim” Corbett. 1866-1933. American heavyweight boxing champion, best known as the man who defeated the great John L. Sullivan.Vintage ink signature and inscription “With my best regards to Willie Ritchie Jr., Sincerely, Jas. J. Corbett – Sept. 14/32” on a 2.75” x 4.25” slip of paper. In fine condition. Matted with a sepia portrait image.

Jack Sharkey. 1902-1994. American heavyweight boxing champion. Vintage 1930s ink signature “To Willie Ritchie, Jr. with sincerest wishes Jack Sharkey Sept. 1932.” In very good condition, with a few folds. Matted with a nice boxing pose photograph.

Robert Fitzsimmons. 1863-1917. British boxing champion. Fitzsimmons began fighting professionally in Australia and New Zealand before going to the United States in 1890. He won the world's middleweight championship in 1891. In 1897 he defeated James J. Corbett at Carson City, Nevada, for the heavyweight crown but lost it in 1899 to James J. Jeffries at Coney Island, New York. He won the light heavyweight title in 1903 and held it for two years. Fitzsimmons retired from boxing at the age of 52.

Jess Willard. Vintage. 1881-1968. World heavyweight boxing champion. 1930s ink signature on a 1.5” x 4.5” slip of paper. In very good condition, matted with a boxing pose photograph.

James Emory “Jimmie” Foxx. 1907-1967. Vintage 1930s ink signature “Jimmie Foxx – Phila. Athletics” on a 1.5” x 4” slip of paper. A couple of light folds, otherwise in very good condition.

Glenn S. “Pop” Warner. 1871-1954. Vintage 1930s ink signature on a 1.5” x 4.5” slip of paper. The words Stanford University, Palo Alto, Calif. Are typed beneth the signature. In fine condition, matted with a black and white photograph.

Kennesaw Mountain Landis. 1886-1944. American jurist who served as a federal judge from 1905 to 1922, and subsequently as the first commissioner of Major League Baseball.Vintage 1930s ink signature on a 1.75” x 4.5” slip of paper. In very good condition, matted with a small photograph.

Amos Alonzo Stagg. 1862-1965. Vintage 1930s ink signature on a 1” x 3.25”  slip of paper. With the words Chicago University typed beneath the signature. In fine condition, matted with a black and white photograph.

Frank “Lefty” O’Doul. 1897-1969. Vintage ink signature on a 1” x 4” slip of paper “Frank ‘Lefty’ O’Doul.” With the word Brooklyn typed below the signature. Very good condition, matted with a small portrait.

Robert Moses “Lefty” Grove. 1900-1975. Vintage ink signature on a 2” x 4.25” slip of paper “Lefty Grove – Philadelphia – 1932 Athletics.” In fine condition matted with a small photograph.
